DEVNET Pavilion of 2010 Shanghai World Expo sets up “Chang Shun” Day

The Origin of “Chang Shun” Day: Chang Shun county in Gui Zhou province is a less developed and poor mountain region in the southwest part of China. Its majority of population is minority groups such as Miao nationality and Bu Yi nationality. The annual average income per capita in that region is 2000 RMB. It lags far behind from the rest of China in terms of health, education and infrastructure and so on. It is located in a very remote area. Therefore, this county hopes it can have multi-facet cooperation with other places including international community.

From Oct 1st to 4th 2009, delegation of DEVNET Pavilion of 2010 World Expo paid visit to Chang Shun County of Gui Zhou province. The 6 delegates include Mr. Daniel Barrios, the director general of DEVNET Association, Mr. Gao Guoqiang, the commissioner general of DEVNET Pavilion and Mr. Peng Ye, the representative of an enterprise and so on.

The aim to this visit is to help Chang Shun county establish partnership with international community, increase its visibility, attract more international cooperation projects, jointly look for international partners so that there will be more foundations or personalities to give donation to this county.

1. “Chang Shun” Day will be set up inside DEVNET Pavilion. The local special ethnic groups of Chang Shun county will carry out their local customs of welcoming guests. The welcome ceremony will be led by Bu Yi nationality, Miao nationality and so on. Those ladies from minority groups will welcome the VIPs who enter our pavilion by various ways such as singing folk songs, proposing a toast, using bamboo post and hankerchief to greet the guests.

2. There stands the oldest ginkgo in the world. It is almost 5000 years old. Since this county is remote and inconvenient in transportation, the local government in every office term treats tourism and culture preservation and development as one of the most important parts in its future economic development.

3. The “antient paper-making” technology in Chang Shun county of Gui Zhou province is one of the oldest “antient paper-making” technologies in the history. The special paper made by this existing technology could be recommended to UNESCO by DEVNET Association. DEVNET Association will assist Chang Shun county of Gui Zhou province to apply this technology for World Non-material Cultural Heritage.

4. DEVNET International proposed to let Chang Shun county of Gui Zhou province establish interactive friendship city relationship with Finland which has the most advanced paper-making technology by now. Hence, the representatives of paper-making factories in Finland will visit Chang Shun county and attract foreign paper making factories to settle down in Chang Shun county. More and more oversea aid and sponsors will come to this county. The combination of the oldest paper-making technology in the world and the latest one in the world will help develop the local cultural and tourist industry and promote the local infrustrature and urban development.

5. Chang Shun county of Gui Zhou province has the great natural advantages in tabacco plantation. DEVNET International will recommend this county to the world famous cigar manufacturer（Graycliff·Nassau,Bahamas）. At the proper time, this gentleman will be invited to have preliminery talk with the local government so that the cigar plantation base and manufacturing factory could settle down in Chang Shun county to promote the local economy.

The fruits of this oldest ginkgo harvested in 2010 is agreed to be supplied to DEVNET Pavilion of 2010 Shanghai Expo. The fruits will weigh around 500 kilograms. The fruits could be designed to make artistic souvenir which could be sold in the business area of DEVNET Pavilion. Part of the profit will be donated to the local government of Chang Shun county unconditionally. DEVNET Association will try its best to help apply this oldest ginkgo for the world guinness record in order to increase the international visibility of this county and expand its international recognition and reputation.

In the work meeting with the leaders of Chang Shun county in Gui Zhou province and the interview made by the local TV station, the following agreement is reached:
