3 D Animation on “Millennium Development Goals” Launched Beginning Phase

On Sept.29, 2009, the organizing committee of DEVNET Pavilion signed official cooperation agreement with famous Japanese animation director Mr. Shizuno Koubun, indicating the official beginning of the producing work of the large-scale 3 Dimensional Animation independently invested by DEVNET, an executing agency of the United Nations Development Program, and specially made for the Shanghai World Expo. It also signifies the animation development in developing countries has entered a new 3 D era.

This magnificent large-scale 3D animation masterpiece, focusing on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals as the creating theme, has specially received support from the Mr. Shizuno Koubun, director general of the world-know popular animation “The First of the North Star”, as chief inspector. Corresponding to the eight Millennium Development Goals, namely “Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; Achieve universal primary education; Improve maternal health; Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases; Ensure environmental sustainability; Develop a global partnership for development; Promote gender equality and empower women and Reduce child mortality”, this animation aims to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the launch of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

As a representative personage among young directors in animation field born in the early stage of Japanese economic boom, Mr. Shizuno Koubun has undertaken major planner and director for many masterpieces, such as part of the single episodes of the “Director Conan” Series, “Magic Girl Lilica”, ect. Mr. Shizuno Koubun enjoys a very high reputation in the international animation field and is hailed as a talent director of the new generation.

This animation, settled to be released to the general public during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, shall nodoubtly add a touch of attractive cultural scene to the Expo. Inside DEVNET Pavilion, a venue covering around 200 ㎡shall be specially opened up as a 3D cinema, in which films shall be played every night for international animation funs and visitors to DEVNET Pavilion to watch. Souvenirs made from major characters of relative films shall be displayed accordingly. These shall be the new animation images released after the famous images like Ikkyu, Atomu, Doraemon, Conan in Japanese animation history and will definitely win the fancy of world animation funs.

Mr. Shizuno Koubun, born in Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned animation inspector and director in Japan.

In the production of the animation work “Giant Robot The Day the Earth Stops” by Phonix Entertainment Company, he started working independently, focusing mainly on the animation production of the work of Gonzo.
