23-10-2009 3 D Animation on “Millennium Development Goals” Launched Beginning Phase
The organizing committee of DEVNET Pavilion signed official cooperation agreement with famous Japanese animation director Mr. Shizuno Koubun, indicating the official beginning of the producing work of the large-scale 3 Dimensional Animation independently invested by DEVNET, an executing agency of the United Nations Development Program, and specially made for the Shanghai World Expo. It also signifies the animation development in developing countries has entered a new 3 D era.

Preliminary Meeting and Mid-autumn Festival Banquet of DEVNET Pavilion, organized by the pavilion committee, is successfully held in Hilton Hotel in Shanghai. Commissioner General of DEVNET Pavilion, director of DEVNET Affairs Coordination Bureau, executive director of DEVNET Pavilion and vice director of the Bureau, together with over 200 government and enterprise representatives attended the banquet. Mr. Daniel Barrios, general director of DEVNET international, came specially from Rome, Italy, for support and guidance to DEVNET Pavilion.

24-09-2009 Third Session of International Symposia on Expo Shanghai Online Successfully Held in Paris.
DEVNET Pavilion group participted in the Third Session of International Symposia on Expo Shanghai Online in Paris with the leadership of Mr. Li Shien. The symposium is co-organized by the Bureau of International Exposition and the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination. Attendees to the symposia include Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, secretary-general of BIE, 27 countries and international organizations and over 80 participant representatives.

04-09-2009 Mayor meets top UN official.
Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday met Awni Behnam, the United Nations Commissioner General for Expo 2010, at Hengshan Picardie Hotel. Preparations have run smoothly for Expo 2010, said Han. Pavilions on the Expo site are expected to be completed by next February, start testing in March and begin trial operations in April, Han added.

28-08-2009 Introductory Meeting of DEVNET Pavilion held in Nagoya, Japan.
On August 3rd, 2009, an introductory meeting was held successfullt in Nagoya Chubu University particularly for Japanese small and medium-sized companies by General representative of DEVNET Pavilion Mr. Gao Guoqiang, executive director Mr. Li Shien and other representatives. Over 80 Japanese companies attended the introductory meeting. Focusing on cooperation of international projects and promotion of high and new technology, a wide communication was carried out with local companies. This meeting received strong support from DEVNET JAD Japanese Association of DEVNET (JAD) and Nagoya Chubu University.

With the drawing near of 2010 Shanghai World Expo, people’s concern on the World Expo grows continously day by day. On May, 20th, 2009, an investigating tour was led to Jixi, Anhui upon invitation of Jixi vice county chief Mr. Wang Yong.
